Everything we have in this life either fails or dies, precious metals corrode or get broken, our phones have a daily battery life then they eventually die, all these things have life cycles and even when they are brand new after a while the novelty eventually wears off.
This life only has true meaning if we give our lives to God through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ and live by the standards He set out for us by following His commandments.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Psalm 19:8-11 KJV
In this life much of it is spent gaining whether it be through education, attaining material possessions or even through receiving gifts, but there is only one gift and one substantial purpose that has an eternal value that will never die and that is salvation through Jesus Christ, this is the free gift given by God to save a sinner from hell and damnation forever.
10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is

which has become the cornerstone.’[a]
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12 NIV
God is the true treasure that is from everlasting to everlasting and He is everywhere, sees and knows all things and if we repent and accept His only begotten Son as our Lord and saviour our sins will be washed away and we will be a new creation in Him.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
