The length of our dreams on earth seem short compared to our waking life on earth, the length of our life on earth compared to life in eternity will seem short because we will live life fully as God intended it surrounded by his Holy presence.
God makes it clear that whilst we are on earth we are to consider him in all ours ways with the plans that we set for our lives.
13Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that. James 4:13-15 NIV
God is the good, Holy and true Heavenly Father and as the Father He has good plans for his children but he does expect us to put His kingdom first before the worldly things as a sign of reverence and obedience to Him.
31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33 NIV
